Ebbro 1/43 scale version of the Keihin HSV-010 which competed in the 2012 season of Super GT in the GT500 class.
"Japan's leading racing driver, Katsutomo Kaneishi was known to have started preparing his successors quite some time before he retired. His team, Real Racing, fought in the GT500 class of the 2012 Super GT series in this car, #17.
The machine is a Honda HSV-010 that they started running in 2010. The drivers were Toshihiro Kaneishi, the cousin of Katsutomo Kaneishi and a former German F3 series champion, and Koudai Tsukakoshi, who graduated the Suzuka Racing School Formula at the top of his class. They formed their driving partnership in 2009.
The GT500 class machines of 2012 had enlarged restrictors to match the improving performance of the GT300 class, raising the overall level of speed from the previous year. The Honda HSV-010 had a variety of improvements, such as aerodynamic revisions, including a new wing, further developed side radiators, and the addition of an air conditioner.
The KEIHIN HSV-010 of Real Racing had a dramatic race from the opening round at Okayama. Though they were left behind in qualifying at 13th place, they raced furiously through the ranks and rose to 3rd place on the very last corner of the 81st lap. In the 5th round at Suzuka, they started 6th in qualifying, and were actually in the lead for a time, but two tyre bursts set them behind in the end.
Even when the podium was not within reach, they drove diligently to gain enough points to be in the upper ranks. It was a year which proved the experience of Katsutomo Kaneishi and the strength of his team."
